In order to be able to learn to drive, pupils must have a valid provisional drivers licence and be 17+ years of age. An application for the provisional can be obtained from your local post office.

The theory test consists of 50 multiple choice questions and a hazard perception test. Both must be passed at the same time, and the theory must be passed before you may apply for the practical test. I can help pupils to prepare for the test by covering theory and hazard based lessons during the driving course.

The practical test lasts about 40 minutes and is an evaluation of your driving skills in a practical driving environment. Pupils must let me know in good time of any test so that arrangements can be made for the use of the car.

Both tests can be booked by contacting the DSA on 0870 010 1372 or online at www.dsa.gov.uk
